Tape head to preamp direct<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-family: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-family ), Sans-serif; font-weight: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-weight );\">If you have had any experience mounting phono cartridges on turntables,\u00a0 this should be\u00a0 familiar territory.\u00a0 Tape heads have similar 4 pin outputs with minor variances in pin diameter.\u00a0 We offer custom\u00a0 made shielded wire that is\u00a0 particularly suited\u00a0 to the application\u00a0 with cartridge pins on one end and your choice of\u00a0 how to terminate the other end of the wire.\u00a0 Like cartridges , head polarity + &#8211;\u00a0 for each channel\u00a0 is to be considered\u00a0 and\u00a0 best you look this up as it&#8217;s not\u00a0 routinely marked.<\/span><\/p><p>Disconnect the four wires from your playback head\u00a0 (unless your deck uses a head plug)\u00a0 and\u00a0 attach the 4 wiresod the new interconnect to the heads. A very good idea to harness this wire in some fashion close to the headblock so there will be no movement on the new connections.\u00a0<\/p><p>2. Internal routing through the Deck\u00a0<\/p><p>\u00a0Same as #1\u00a0 but the wiring goes through the tape deck and is hooked up to an installed set of female RCAs on the rear panel of the deck.
