Phono Preamplifier DB3

The DB3 Phono Preamplifier is a variation on our DB2, originally designed to maximize performance on reel to reel tape dynamics.
Along the way, we asked David Berning to include some phono EQ settings which would make it a bit of a retro  product, similar to equipment made in the late 50s and early 60s.
Back then, many legendary products emerged and the majority of them offered both phono and tape head inputs.
The results were way beyond our expectations and we set out to compare the DB2 prototype to some of the best phono stages available, auditioned on very high-end sound systems.
The DB3 is phono focused, switching out some of the components to optimize for RIAA and a second setting with bass boost that Dave recommended.
We use top-of-the-line Silver Mica capacitors and a variety of other components have been optimized as well.
But why not include all of our tape settings we asked?
One just never knows when a hardcore phono enthusiast might get exposed to the tape experience.
The DB3 is a phono preamplifier and a tape head preamplifier combined, with a switching power supply, tube based, which is the secret sauce!
Power supplies have always been so essential to great performance on any hi-fi audio product. This is no ordinary power supply.
Production models are expected Mid 2026.
