Why buying David Berning designed equipment is a safe bet

If you take the time to read his reviews, you will realize that the reactions from reviewers is not typical. It reveals that Davids designs simply sound a lot better than most and are as a result of an amazing combination of two important elements

  • It would be a stretch to say that he understands electronic components at a molecular level, but in the 32 years of experience testing the limits of many different individual components, gives him an understanding that goes far beyond what most designers bring to the table.
  • Consider this analogy to high-performance cars. Over the years, a small percentage of Formula One drivers have been mechanics.
Phil Hill, who was the first American to win the title, was an excellent mechanic. Michael Schumacher, although not as competent, moved over to the Ferrari team, which turned out to have a substandard car. He spent a significant amount of time with the mechanics, helping improve the cars performance and eventually they won the title. The same holds true for leading edge audio engineering and design. The more you know about what’s under the hood, the better.
  • David’s approach to audio electronic circuit design rarely resembles that of others. His understanding of what the limits are to get maximum performance out of tubes/valves and semiconductors has proven invaluable.

He does not actively market his equipment. Reviewers find their way to him as his designs are unorthodox and have an interesting small hard core group of followers. You will not find any reviews that are less than super enthusiastic.
